A French impressionist, Paul Cézanne was one of the most influential artists in the history of painting. His works and ideas influenced the aesthetical development of art in the 20th century and artistic movements such as Cubism and Fauvism. Cézanne was born in 1839 in Aix-en-France. Dominated by dark colours, the earliest paintings of Cézanne remained under the influence of artists such as a Romantic, Eugène Delacroix and a Realist, Gustave Courbet. Paul Cézanne's reproductions can become a part of your interiors in the form of reproductions of paintings on canvas.

Paul Cézanne paintings on canvas

Paul Cézanne was a French painter who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is considered one of the most important painters of the post-impressionist era. His work, so characteristic and original, breaking patterns, became the starting point for a new style in art - cubism. Initially, he painted in an impressionistic style, but at some point he began to show space and perspective differently. Objects and people in his paintings seem to be swaying. The shapes take on the appearance of geometric forms. In his work, the artist moved away from the established rules and wanted to show depth in his paintings - both in the visible and symbolic layers.

Paul Cezanne's paintings as reproductions

The themes of the works created by Paul Cézanne are very wide. His most favorite paintings were landscapes created while working outdoors. He also created portraits, still lifes and scenes from life. He is the author of a whole series of paintings depicting men and women bathing. The quite universal subject matter and the very original style of this artist's works make their reproductions very popular among art lovers to this day. Cezanne's paintings on canvas, hung, for example, in the living room, will attract attention and turn even the most modest arrangement into a truly original interior. Paul Cezanne

Paul Cezanne is a French painter associated with post-impressionism. He was born in 1839 in Aix-en-Provance. At the age of 10, he began attending Saint Joseph's School. The next stage of his education was at the Bourbon College - there he met Emile Zola and Baptistin Bail. In the following years, Paul Cezanne studied law in Aix-en-Provence. Encouraged by Emile Zola, he decided to abandon this field and moved to Paris to improve his artistic skills.
There are four most important stages in Cezanne's work. The first is the dark period, during which the painter was influenced by the impressionists, but mainly used dark, heavy colors. The next stage is the Impressionist period, in which Cezanne was strongly influenced by Pissarro. The next phase is referred to as the mature period: the paintings painted by Paul Cezanne at that time referred to impressionism, but were also characterized by geometric shapes. In the last period, called "decline:", the painter, who was in poor health and mental condition, took up topics related to ultimate matters. Paul Cezanne's works created at that time heralded the arrival of a new trend - cubism.

An example is the painting "Still Life with Apples and Oranges". The most important elements of this composition are fruits scattered on a table covered with pleated white fabric.
Other famous Paul Cezanne paintings include: "The Card Player", "The Boy in the Red Vest".
