Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830), was an English portrait painter, creator of paintings in the classic style. This inkeeper's son gradually became more and more popular artist, to his clientele belonged aristocracy and important personalities. Finally he was appreciated by the King George Lawrence III himself and became his court painter, additionally earning a knighthood.
The biggest collection of Sir Thomas Lawrence's paintings may be seen in Waterloo Gallery in Windsor.
