Max Liebermann (1847-1935), was a German painter and graphic designer. He is considered to be the one of most prominent creators of German Impressionism. His works are classified as transitional between the art of the 19th century and modern Wilhelminsky period and the Weimar Republic. Until 1933 he was a leader of the Prussian Academy of Fine Arts. He mainly painted landscapes, portraits, genre and religious scenes. He also created etchings.
