Peder Severin Krøyer (1851-1909), was a Danish painter, associated with the group of artists working at the turn of the 19th and 20th century in Skagen. He practiced outdoor painting and portraits too. The main motifs of his creations are seaside, fishermen at work and holiday makers resting at the seaside. He was valued for conveying the game of light and richness of colours. His paintings are very popular and are presented on today's exhibitions all over the world.
